Dust Control Environmental Ltd (DCE) recently completed a Turnkey installation for a leading UK concrete block manufacturer. The state-of-the-art system is designed to control airborne concrete and aggregate dust generated from a paving block production line. For this application a DCE Tornado 24 Xcell Reverse Jet cartridge filter was selected handling a total airflow of 18,00m3/hr, offering 24hr/day 7 day/week operation.
Site standards required the filtration plant to be located a significant distance away from the production line so as part of the contract DCE installed over 50M of galvanized fast fit, clip together, smooth bore ductwork. To reduce overall dust levels within the facility additional connections were made to a board stacker, rotary brush head and the de-stacker units.
Internal working conditions have been hugely improved by capturing and controlling fugitive dust at source. DCE Limited inhouse engineers contracted the project which was completed within the customers planned annual maintenance shutdown.
